Respond to Reading:
How the Grinch Stole Christmas

In this lesson set, we are listening and responding to the short story ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ by Dr. Seuss. This is a handy short thematic story to use around Christmas time. It follows the familiar story of the Grinch and the Whos of Whoville. The ‘Respond to Reading’ tasks are set for the entire story, with a choice of 3 respond to reading tasks. You will find everything you need to get started with this station down below.

Book Availability

I used an audio version of this story rather than the physical copy. Either will work well. You can find ample audio readings on YouTube of this story. You can also download the PDF version of the story down below.

Station Instructions

You can download the instructions sheet that accompanies this station. I usually stick this inside the A4 plastic organiser boxes that move with each station. The W.A.L.T is useful to keep the children focused on the station.
